The Wooddale High School’s Band had the opportunity to be part of the Rust College Founders’ Day Parade that took place on Saturday, November 9, in Holly Springs, Mississippi. It was an unforgettable experience for them, not only because they could show their incredible talent but also because some of the band’s members got a scholarship at Rust College.
According to Zeporia Gray, one of the band directors at Wooddale High, this is the first time that Wooddale High School gets invited to join the aforementioned parade in Holly Springs. She also stated that three senior students that play in the band were able to get a scholarship at Rust College.
Founded in 1866, Rust College is a private historically black college in Holly Springs. It’s also the second-oldest private college in the state.
Congratulations to the WHS Band on marching in this particular parade. To the students that got a scholarship, BRAVO! Your future is already looking brighter. Keep up the good work!
