District 2:  Kingsbury High School Students Explore Jackson State University at High School Day Event

This past weekend, forty-six eager students from Kingsbury High School had the exciting opportunity to experience Jackson State University (JSU) firsthand, thanks to JSU’s High School Day  held in Jackson, MS. The event provided a comprehensive introduction to life at the university, giving students a closer look at academic, athletic, and social opportunities available at this renowned HBCU.

Upon arriving at JSU, students took part in a guided campus tour, exploring key facilities, meeting faculty, and interacting with current students. During their visit, they received detailed information about available scholarship programs and a variety of academic majors. For many students, it was an eye-opening experience that helped to demystify the college admissions process and envision their own futures at a prestigious institution.

The day culminated with an exciting football game between Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State University. The students joined thousands of enthusiastic fans to cheer on the JSU Tigers, adding a memorable dose of school spirit to the academic insights of the day.

This visit marks a proud moment for Kingsbury High, known for fostering both academic excellence and athletic achievements. By attending High School Day, students took a significant step forward in shaping their college aspirations and opening the door to future opportunities.
